This sweet drink has become very popular in the U.S. recently and its all over Los Angeles now. Boba is my childhood drink, and seeing it everywhere makes me so happy!
In case you don’t know, Boba or bubble tea is a drink that contains either tea based flavors, milk tea flavors, and other sweet variety flavors that contains inside of it little tapioca balls, jelly, custard, or even the popping tapioca balls. This is the drink that I love to have whenever my sweet tooth craving kicks in
There are a few spots I tend to go to as my usual.
First, Tea N Tea located in 9074 Tampa Ave, Northridge, CA 91324, USA. I used to work close to this place and that’s how I found it. I like the ambiance here, very friendly staff and its not always super busy. My favorite drink here is the Iced Thai Tea with Honey Boba and Egg Custard, along with 25% sweetener only. The tea itself is mixed well, inside is the black tea, mixed with condensed milk and other flavors. They also have special drinks they make different everyday or every week. Tea N Tea also has snacks on their menu and the popcorn chicken is a must try, it is fried to perfection, juicy, and amazingly crunchy. Try it with Mild spice for a kick, and with your drink; thats a perfect combo.
Second tea spot, is the BonBon Tea House in 9663 Reseda Blvd Los Angeles, CA 91324. This is a kind of hidden gem, but it gets so packed every time I go. It is next to a college campus, and this spot has so much drinks on their menu. It surely does give you time to think about what to try. My go to drink here is the Iced Milk Tea Boba, simple and semi sweet. This contains just tea and milk with a mixture of brown sugar. Simple and yet very satisfying. It’s a bummer that this place doesn’t really offer snacks, I wish they did. They do carry some stylish apparel such as graphic tees and sweatshirts.
Third on my list is Bounce Boba Lounge in 9545 Reseda Blvd Ste 17 Northridge, CA 91324. This place has had so many upgrades with their store and their drinks and recently its becoming my go to compared to the other two. I tried something new and its the Blended Earl Grey Milk Tea with Honey Boba and Egg Custard. This is a creamy, bergamot flavored ice blended black tea sweetened with Honey. The first sip made me smile and I definitely enjoyed the drink. It tasted so yummy, they also have tons of snacks to choose from such as popcorn chicken (a must here), elote, panini and so much more.
Boba drinks are a treat for me, I enjoy it from time to time with the popcorn chicken to go along with it. I love that there are tons of different varieties of flavors to pick and this three places have provided great job on making their own creativity on their Boba Drinks.
