Jollibee

McDonald’s is the largest fast food chain restaurant in the world. It has been voted as the number 1 fast food place in nearly every country on the planet except for one country. The Philippines is the home and birth place to a chicken and spaghetti combination called Jollibee. As a kid growing up in the Philippines I often loved stopping by Jollibee for a kids meal the same way most Americans are fond of McDonald’s Happy Meals.

The Jollibee menu is definitely different for anyone unfamiliar with it who are wanting to try it. Just to run down a few of my favorite food items from this establishment. I enjoy the fried chicken (Yes it is better than KFC), the Filipino style spaghetti, rice, palabok fiesta, mango and taro pies, and of course their signature Halo-Halo drink.

Whenever I speak to any non Filipino person they are usually confused and have never heard of the place. Jollibee is a staple of my culture and has an assortment of different and unique Filipino fast food style dishes that I implore anyone to try. There are quite a few locations here in Los Angeles as the restaurant has been expanding over the past few decades. They even have a Jollibee food truck that travels the globe to regions where a Jollibee is not accessible.

The company has been growing at a rapid pace and even expands to grow in regions of Japan and Australia soon as interest has been shown there. If you do find yourself exploring and decide to enter one of their establishments, might I recommend the classic Chicken Joy for beginners.
