Seattle, Washington is a beautiful city, and is surrounded by water, mountains and an evergreen forest. This is a city that rains on a daily basis, but during the summer months the temperatures are very pleasing.
For a quick weekend getaway in January, I got to experience the cold and rainy season. Heck, I missed the snow by a week, but I’ll come back to enjoy more of what this city has to give. Here’s some of what I did on my weekend trip.
First things first, packing for Seattle. Packing for your trip is very crucial, since I went during winter time, it is a must to have a long coat for rain or snow, travel umbrella, hiking boots (waterproof) or rain boots, and clothes that will just keep you warm and dry.
Seattle, Washington is known for being the home to the original Starbucks, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, the luscious greenery of the state and much more. I loved to Hike and explore throughout new areas, and Seattle does not disappoint. With a short weekend, Visiting the First Starbucks was a blast from the past. I’m a big coffee drinker and I was able to visit the Starbucks Reserve and enjoyed a coffee experience with Espresso Flights 2, 3. Its an experience since the Barista explained the history of Starbucks reserve and the coffee tastings that is currently available to them.
Pike Place Market, all foodies should go here! This market is one of the oldest continuously operated farmers markets in the Unites States. The market is over looking the ocean, and its a tourist attraction for those who seek a food and market experience. This Market is where you’ll find fresh seafood, fresh flowers, produce, meat, etc.. its endless. The first Starbucks is located here as well, and even the famous Gum Wall!

Seattle, Starbucks Reserve
Space Needle is an observation tower in Seattle, and an icon of the city. Beautiful at night and extraordinary in the morning. Tourist can reach the top of the space needle by elevators with a fee. There at the top is a cafe and a restaurant “SkyCity”. If you are not afraid of heights, this is a must do and experience the breathtaking views on the Loupe, the first and only rotating glass floor.
Did a little bit of exploring outside of Seattle City, and visited the Snoqualmie Falls. Very scenic park and the view of the waterfalls is just spectacular. Since this is one of Seattles most popular scenic attractions, it is a small hike and very easy for families young & old to explore.
Even though its just a short weekend getaway, I was able to enjoy Seattle’s most popular sightseeings and the weather was just perfect. Hope to come back soon and do summer Hiking in the future and say hi to the troll under the bridge again!
