Trick or Treat!
Halloween time has descended upon the Disney parks and that can only mean one thing! The Villains are free and have taken over for a night of treats and tricks! Disney hosts a wonderfully delightful event during the month of Halloween for both kids and kids at heart.
Disneyland and other Disney parks get transformed into a spooky time celebration for Halloween and allow you to have special meet and greets with some of the most iconic Disney Villains. The characters who normally roam the parks are also dressed in Halloween time costumes that can only be found during this time such as Donald and Goofy dressing as their Kingdom Hearts counter parts.
Disney Parks are known for their food and that has to be one of my favorite aspects about Halloween time at the parks. The treats go from pumpkin spice lattes to caramel or pumpkin flavored beignets in the shape of our favorite cartoon mouse. Mickey’s Halloween party also hosts dance party’s thrown by the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus or the fraternity house of OK from Monster’s University.
Disney also allows you to go trick or treating! This is a highlight if you want your kids to go somewhere safe to collect candy. They don’t skimp on the candy either and also provide sugar alternatives for those with certain health conditions or just looking for a healthier choice such as apples, cheese its, chips and a variety of other non sugary treats.
Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas takes over the Haunted Mansion ride in a magical way. You can ride with Zero and Jack as they travel through a haunted mansion with the rest of the cast from the film and new remixed songs from both the ride and film. Every time I come during the howl-iday season I have to ride it at least once, not to mention take a picture with the pumpkin king himself.
Admission to the Halloween festivities is also separate so don’t make the mistake of getting a day pass for the park in hopes of the Halloween activities. During the regular hours of operation, the park still has many Halloween themed rides, shows and merchandise, but the Halloween party for trick or treating, meet and greets and dance party is only after hours and sold as a separate price.
Costumes are welcomed for the kids during this nightly event and I’m sure it goes without saying, but this is appropriate for kids of all ages. You won’t see anything like chain saw wielding maniacs as you would at Universal Studios Horror Nights, which you can read about HERE.
