Knott’s Berry Farm changes their name and becomes Knott’s Merry Farm only one time a year. Christmas and the holidays at Knott’s Berry Farm are always nice. Planning a trip around the holidays is never a bad idea as the park hosts an array of new merchandise and attractions during the Holiday time.
Meet and greets are always fun, but they get just that more special as Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang get dressed and decorated in the animated classic style of A Charlie Brown Christmas. The entire section of Camp Snoopy looks like something straight out of the film. You can even meet Charlie Brown and his tiny ungrown Christmas tree.
Speaking of meet and greets, there is a special section in the area of Calico off to the left when you first enter the park that is decorated to look like Santa’s workshop. You can usually do little games, write letters, color free prints or decorate Christmas cookies while waiting for your picture with the big man Santa himself.
Calico gets decorated in lights as well as Christmas carolers singing classic holiday songs. You can also find Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future walking around the old western style town of Calico. The shops all host specialty items as well made only there for the holidays along with unique and interesting foods as well.
The boardwalk area is also transformed as some years they put out an ice rink for guests to enjoy. There is a show that can’t be missed, which is the Snoopy on Ice show. Figure skaters come out dressed as the classic characters and perform an incredible show with music and lights. This was definitely one of the highlights I had when visiting the park during the holidays.
