Living in Los Angeles, there’s the age old question of who has the best tacos. Yes that’s really a thing, see out here due to diversity theres so many people putting their own spin on classic tacos. One person says here another says there well ladies and gentlemen, Mini Jai says Katrina’s Tacos.
I had heard about this spot for quite a bit of time and was told to go check them out. I was able to get my hands on a few different combination tacos and some carne asada steak fries as well. I could not believe how good these were, everything from the soft cut carne asada to the sizzling cheese and their signature hand made tortillas. The tortillas set up the whole dish as they are made from scratch right in front of you.
They have a wide selection of different meat to choose from as well as toppings like lime, cilantro, onions, red onions, green sauce and much much more. I had the privilege of catching up with the owner Wendy Constanza who informed me that theyve been up and running for a little over 7 months now. She had been a cook for about 2 years prior when covid hit and caused her to lose her job. With support from her family she decided to take her knowledge and create Katrina’s Tacos.
Handmade tortillas is something she loves rather than the normal store bought kind and it really showed. I couldn’t believe the difference it made when I took a bite. One of their signature dishes is their Big Party Potato which is massive, you’ll need a buddy to finish this one. The party fries was a dish she made for me and I ate until I nearly passed out. Just Check out the photo below!
One dish I found especially interesting was their potato tortilla tacos. It was very different in the most positive way one can think when it comes to a culinary experience. Needless to say I left a big tip and wished her much success in her business. This is what Los Angeles Street food is all about. Katrina’s Tacos also does catering in case you’d ever like to hire her for an event, she also has Grubhub orders in case you don’t want to drive down to Nordhoff and Sepulveda where she stays between the hours of 5pm to 10pm.
Dessert and drinks are also found here in the form of churros and drinks like a classic Mexican glass bottled coke. I did not get a chance to try their burritos but hey, that’s why I have to pay them another visit!
