In the beautiful country of Italia, I was fortunate to visit Rome recently and explored the beautiful city with their unique architectures, fall weather, Italian foods, and a lot of histories to explore throughout the city. Rome has been on my travel bucket list; in this city where many tourist such as myself want to experience the Roman Country. Believe it or not, 2-3 nights is not enough to venture out here. Planing your schedule can be hectic, but planning on what you would like to do helps you save time and money while you’re there.
Rome is an enchanting city that I’ve ever traveled to. Here I got to visit famous landmarks, experienced food, and walked through famous art pieces that I thought I’ll only see on Television. Here are some of the sights I saw in a short period of time while I was there.
This city has the most photogenic landmarks I’ve ever seen. The first historic site I visited is the beautiful Colosseum at night, and this is one of the largest amphitheaters in the Roman Empire. This famous landmark was built for entertainment for Roman Citizens, and in this Colosseum, citizens watched gladiators fight to death or individuals face off against dangerous predators such as tigers, or lions. There is a lot of history within these walls, the Colosseum is a must for a traveler to explore. Take a tour inside and learn what Roman empires did in the past, step foot where the Romans walked, and look at the stage where the citizens watch Gladiators fights. Skipping this iconic landmark would be a shame.
Just a few minutes away is the famous site of the Roman Forum. Roman Forum was the city’s main piazza where it was once was a political plaza along with it’s religious monuments. This is walking distance from the Colosseum, its a must to add in your tour. This area is a huge piazza, this is where all citizens create business, religious beliefs, see monuments, meet Roman Citizens from rich to poor, gather materials, food markets, sell goods, and so much more.
The other must see location is The Vatican City. I know this is not part of Rome itself, but it is located within the Rome borders and a must see while you are there. The Vatican city can be a whole day trip; it is such a grand place to admire, to explore and you will never finish it in one day. The Vatican City is the smallest state in the entire world, once you pass the entrance to the Vatican City it is a new world full of history. Inside The Vatican City holds galleries with 3000 years of art, the Sistine Chapel, and parts of the papal palace. Visiting the Vatican Museum is a must with a tour guide, the earlier the better so guests who visit during the early hours won’t get overwhelmed with the crowds.
I can gladly say Italy is one of the countries I can happily scratch off on my bucket list. There are a lot more attractions to see while you are there, such as the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and so much more. The beautiful City of Rome had so many unique architectures, welcoming people, gorgeous sceneries, and so many historic places to visit and learn. I am glad that I was able to spend more time here before I traveled to different places.
I Definitely recommend planning tours ahead of time, bring comfortable shoes, and just be prepared to learn history from all the monuments you will come across with.
