California Adventure is right across the way from Disneyland and has it’s own unique spin on the holidays. The park is also filled with interesting Disney decorations, but because California Adventure has converted to more Pixar characters, you’ll see more things like the Toy Story gang and The Incredibles.
The lights and decoration make the pier area like a beautiful ocean of stars. The Icredi-coaster with the giant mickey head illuminate the park as well. The Pixar parade is also hosted by Santa Clause himself as it rides through the park.
The highlight of the park for me has to be Carsland! Carsland is based off the hit film Cars from Disney and Pixar and has one of the most eccentric areas in the entire park. You’ll see Christmas trees made from parking cones and decorated with vehicle tail lights as ornaments. The 1950’s style section is stunning at night. I love how they use tires as wreathes throughout this section of the park.
Avenger’s Campus has yet to open at the time of writing this article, but I’m sure once it does in 2021; they’ll have their own spin on the holidays. I am looking forward to Spider-man and Iron-man decorations. One aspect that is currently there is Guardian of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout which allows you to see both California Adventure and Disneyland right before dropping to your doom.
If you do plan on visiting Disneyland for the holidays then I definitely recommend getting a park hopper pass and visiting California Adventure as well. I love to park hop and try Christmas inspired treats from both parks while I take in the atmosphere.
