Ready Player One! Go!
Los Angeles is home to a lot of unique and interesting bars and night clubs. One of the funnest has to be the Player One Bar located at 5126 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood Ca, 91601. This eccentric looking bar is home to an array of memorable arcade games, pin ball machines, signature drinks and of course Karaoke!
The establishment opened a couple of years ago and has been running strong since with nerd culture exploding over the recent two decades. I couldn’t help but eye the Jurassic Park shooter and Mario Kart arcade machines as I walked past a bar with pop culture labeled drinks such as the Doc Brown and the Blue Shell.
They have a happy hour every day from the hours of 5 pm to 7 pm as well as hosting trivia nights every Tuesdays. If you want to impress the Shang-Chi crew then get your vocal chords ready and sing Hotel California on Karaoke nights which are every Sunday. The bar doesn’t have a cover charge to enter but they do require a 1 drink minimum for you to enter the arcade section.
One of the gems of Player One was the giant screens they have located around the arcade so everyone waiting for their turn to play can watch you dominate your pals on Street Fighter. If you happen to find yourself in North Hollywood for an evening or want to take your friends to a fun spot that differs from most bars then make your way here and enjoy yourself a cold one as well as a trip down memory lane.
