All Hallows eve has arrived and it’s time for the fun and scary stuff to begin. I personally love theme parks and really enjoy Halloween time at theme parks as they begin to transform into a more horror filled environment. Knott’s Berry Farm does something different which makes this theme park unique in it’s own way.
Knott’s is turned into a trick-o-treating spot for kids during the day and then changed to a scary place for adults at night. During the day the park is called Camp Spooky which is a play on words for Snoopy the flagship mascot where the characters do fun Halloween shows and the park is decorated for children.
The characters are all in costumes and hand out candy to children who are also allowed to attend in costume and collect sweets. This time of the park can be attended with a simple day time ticket. No extra purchase is necessary and a map is handed out so you know where all the trick or treat spots are located at.
Knott’s Scary Farm is a night time event that requires a separate ticket and has many of the rides featured in the dark along with several scare mazes and scare zones filled with ghouls and demons that stalk you as you pass from one area of the park to the other. Costumes are not allowed for adults and more adult themed shows are featured like the busty queen of Halloween herself Elvira.
The park has a sinister and deep glow to it with fog and hard shadows you’ll feel as though you entered a new realm. I have a blast every time I go even if I just people watch and try some of the specialty foods they have available.
