Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Ghouls and goblins are out as that time of the year when monsters lurk around every corner has arrived. That’s right, it’s Halloween time! The time to carve pumpkins and prepare your costume is here and while staying home each night and watching a different scary movie can be fun, there’s a place that can be funner!

Welcome to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights! Universal spares no expense on their redesigned park as the entertainment capital of the world and transforms into a truly grotesque and spooky park. Each year they select from popular cult classic films and series such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Killer Klownz From Outer Space and the Netflix hit show Stranger Things.

Along with new decor, the park has scare zones that are filled with mist and neon lights that have scary dressed characters jump out at you. Several rides are not operating as they make room for themed inspired mazes for you and friends to venture through as terrifying creatures lash out at you!

Not all rides are closed though as you can experience several popular attractions like Jurassic World, The Mummy and the tram changed to be either backwards, in the dark or completely transformed into a new way to experience the ride. Merchandise and limited edition products are also offered during this time in the parks which won’t come back so be sure to grab your hands on a souvenir.

Let me help you in planning your trip as a specialty ticket for the event must be purchased. Getting a normal day time Universal Studios ticket will not allow you entry into the special Horror night as the event usually begins around 7pm to 1pm. Lines are usually an issue and tend to build as long as a 2 hour wait so you can spring for a fast pass which allows you to enter the mazes quicker than waiting.

Costumes are not allowed and small children should be accompanied by a guardian and may be too scary for kids anyway. Looking for something fun to do with little ones during Halloween then check out my article on Disney’s Not So Spooky Halloween HERE.
