Movie Theaters

Let’s all go to the movies! Let’s all go to the moooovies!

Movie theaters are a staple of history here in Hollywood, and yet more and more are closing down. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused all kinds of chaos and one of which being severely damaging to the theater industry. Famous theaters such as the Cinerama made famous in several Quentin Tarantino films has officially closed it’s doors.

Staying at home has caused many to be fearful of interactions with others and to set up sound systems and large entertainment consoles in their house. The advent of streaming has also made it so you can purchase new movies from a click of your remote and no need to go to the theaters.

Going to the movies has always been a treat, a mini vacation. Cold air conditioning, overpriced popcorn and snacks, large screen with great sound and nothing beats the audience reaction to shock, horror, excitement or laughter.

Movie theaters have decided to step up their game and here are notable differences that the movie chains have decided to take in.

Several movie theaters such as Ipic has made comfortable recliner seats, service at the touch of a button, gourmet food hot and ready as well as pillows and blanket for comfort while you enjoy your film. Choose your own seating has become mandatory in today’s age so you don’t have to go looking for a seat when you go with friends or family.

Many theaters have also updated their interiors with little cafe’s, restaurants or bars to relax at before and after your film. Complete renovations have been done to many popular theater chains to keep up with ever changing trends of today’s markets.

There are also novelty theaters such as Cinepolis Jr where you can take children to not only enjoy the movie but sit in comfortable bean bag chairs, play in slides and ball pits and run around and be kids. The theater is filled with vibrant and colorful chairs and looks as though it was made entirely out of Legos. If you’re looking to take your kids to a fun theater then this is the spot.

Date night has always been great when going to the movies. A way to escape reality for a short moment. Turn off your cell phone, get cozy, and get teleport to a mystical world of dragons, or a save the earth with superheroes or jump in a furiously fast car and go on an epic adventure.

I personally love horror and comedy films and love being drenched in darkness while at the theater getting ready to toss my popcorn in the air at any freight! I encourage everyone to visit a fun theater and enjoy the experience, be remember to be safe, be respectful and as always, enjoy the show!
