Nintendo World wasn’t done with just the Mushroom Kingdom featuring the Mario Bros. cast. They have officially announced Donkey Kong World.
The barrel throwing gorilla was arguably the launch character for Nintendo and helped establish them as a super power in the gaming world after defeating Universal Pictures in a lawsuit. Well now DK and friends makes his way back to Universal in a section of the park dedicated to his franchise.
This section of the park will first open in Japan and as of yet has not been announced for Universal Orlando or Hollywood.
Ariel shots of the section show a unique jungle theme with what appears to be a water barrel ride and a mining cart railway coaster. No word yet on the unique banana flavored foods they’ll have, but I for one am excited.
The Donkey Kong area will not be ready until 2024 so that’ll give us enough time to explore and check out everything we can with the Mushroom Kingdom section of the park.
Meet and greets with Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and possibly Funky Kong will be made available which will draw crowds I’m sure. This announcement leads speculation as to what other Nintendo properties will appear such as Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Star Fox or Metroid Prime.
